The role:

As Energy Engineer within our rapidly growing ESG team, you will play a key role in supporting the energy management of Staycity’s current and future buildings across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe.

You’ll contribute to a wide range of energy efficiency initiatives — from monitoring and improving the performance of existing systems (including domestic hot water, HVAC, and overall power consumption) to project managing energy upgrade programmes such as solar PV, heat pumps, battery storage, and other innovative solutions. This is a varied, hands-on role that will involve regular travel across our estate.

You will also help foster a strong culture of energy management across the business, partnering with key stakeholders to support initiatives that reduce energy consumption, maximise efficiency, and embed sustainable practices into day-to-day operations.

We would love you to have:

• 3+ years’ experience in energy management, with a strong focus on building services and controls

• Solid technical knowledge of domestic hot water, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)

• Hands-on experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), including controls, hardware and software

• Up-to-date understanding of energy design and operational technologies

• Strong knowledge of building and energy standards

• Working knowledge of carbon management and carbon accounting

• Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English

• A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment

• Good practical experience in a building services / operational maintenance setting

What you can do for us:

• Support the Technical Manager and Senior Energy Engineer to identify and deliver energy efficiency opportunities

• Monitor and analyse energy consumption through our Energy Platform to spot trends, issues, and improvements

• Work closely with local operational and maintenance teams, plus Energy Working Groups, to drive better energy performance

• Liaise with external contractors to scope, coordinate, and implement energy efficiency projects

• Help develop and improve energy efficiency guidance, procedures, and best practices

• Produce regular reporting on energy performance at estate, building, and energy service level

• Interact with and enhance BMS performance to support smarter, more efficient building operations
